Durango School District 9-R is accepting applications for an Elementary English Language Development (ELD) Teacher to support for Multilanguage Learners at the Elementary level.   Must hold a Colorado Teaching License. Candidates need to hold endorsement or have coursework in Culturally & Linguistically Diverse Education, or be willing to complete the coursework needed for this endorsement.  Position includes full benefits and begins as soon as possible.

SUMMARY: Plan instruction and assessment aligned with District learner outcomes and State achievement standards.  Supervise assigned students and maintains a positive learning environment.  Adapt instruction to meet the individual learning needs of all students resulting in an increased probability of advancing their achievement.  Maintain positive inter-personal relationships with students, parents, staff and community members.

ADDITIONAL JOB REQUIREMENTS: 

 

EDUCATION AND TRAINING: Minimum Bachelor’s degree of related subject from accredited university. 

 

EXPERIENCE: Experience is preferred but may not be necessary for hiring.

 

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, & REGISTRATIONS:  Colorado Teaching License with endorsements for the levels and subject areas teaching. Pass the PLACE or PRAXIS II Test. Meet CDE and ESSA requirements for In-Field Teacher.  May be required to complete CPI training depending on assignment.
