Durango School District 9-R is accepting applications for a Head Girls' Basketball Coach at Miller Middle School. This coaching position involves instructing middle school students (grades 7 and 8) in the fundamental skills, strategies, and physical training of basketball. We are a member of the San Juan Basin Middle School League. The season begins mid December and runs through mid February.
Preferred Qualifications
- Ability to organize and positively lead athletes and basketball coaching staff
- Extensive knowledge of effective coaching practices/techniques of basketball
- Ability to build rapport with middle school students
- Ability to build individual and team character and confidence
- Ability to relate to students of varying athletic abilities
- Ability to conduct oneself in an ethical and exemplary manner at all times
- Ability to work positively and communicate effectively with coaches, staff, parents and administration
