Durango School Distirct 9-R is accepting applications for a Skills USA Assistant Advisor at Durango High School starting in the 2022/2023 school year. Begins ASAP.
The Assistant Advisor will be responsible for assisting the Lead Advisor in all aspects of facilitating student learning. The assistant will assist the Lead Advisor in chapter activites and building a positive image for the program and the school.
- model and mentor students in developing leadership skills
- supervision of students on day and overnight trips
- administration of budget
- team supervision and discipline
- effective communication with participants and parents
- practice and competition planning
Minimum Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Valid CHSAA Certification, or Colorado Teaching Certificate/License
- Experience working with related school aged students
- Ability to build individual and team character and confidence
- Ability to work as an integral part of the advisor/coaching staff
- Ability to communicate effectively with administration, staff, students and parents
- CPR/1st Aide
