Durango School District 9-R is recruiting Licensed Substitutes who wish to substitute exclusively for the Durango School District 9-R in the 2020 - 2021 school year.  Monday-Friday, 8 hrs/day, for all student contact days.  Includes health and dental insurance.

Applications without a current Colorado teaching license cannot be considered.

Requirements for this position include:

• Valid Colorado teaching License or a letter from a university indicating that student teaching has been completed and the date when the individual will be eligible to apply for their Colorado teaching license.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Must be available to work all student contact days of the 19/20 school year.
• Experience working with children.
• Experience working in classrooms as a contracted teacher or student teacher.
• Ability to effectively engage students in lessons left by the classroom teacher.
• Ability to implement positive behavior supports within the classroom and create a highly productive learning environment
• Willingness to substitute in any classroom grades PK-12 and all special programs.
• Ability to uphold and adhere to school and district policies as well as state regulations.
• Strong communication and documentation skills.

Salary = $130 per 8-hour daily assignment
