Durango School District 9-R is accpeting applications for Head Football Coach at Escalante Middle School starting in the 2020/2021 school year.  This coaching position includes instructing middle school students (grades 7 and 8) in the fundamental skills, strategies, and physical training of football. We are a member of the San Juan Basin League;  the season runs early August 2020 through mid October 2020.

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge and ability to organize and positively lead athletes and Wrestling coaching staff
• Fundamental knowledge of football
• Experience working with school-aged athletes
• CPR/AED certified, or ability to get certified
• Plan and organize practices
• Instruct players on techniques to develop fundamental skills
• Provide feedback to help players improve
• Encourage and support good teamwork and sportsmanship
• Assist head coach in other duties
• Communicate with players, coaches, parents, AD and admin
