SUMMARY: Meet all CDL 3rd Party Testing Program requirements, as well as, Colorado Department of Education and Durango School District 9R School Bus Driver requirements. Maintain CDL 3rd Party Testing Unit and Tester compliance, keeping all records as required and maintaining CDL Test Site, as needed.
ESSENTAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Minimum 10 test required per tester per year to maintain CDL 3rd party tester license. Tests included are Durango School District 9-R employees and outside parties.
Stay compliant with all CDL and 3rd Party Testing Program requirements.
Maintain all CDL 3rd Party testing records, current and previous 3yrs, as required per yearly CDL Compliance Section audits.
Class A license preferred and endorsements SP or willingness to obtain.
Travel when needed for training.
Perform other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION AND TRAINING:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Successfully completing five (5) day CDL Third Party Tester Training course, as provided by DOR, CDL Compliance Section in Denver, Co.
EXPERIENCE:
School transportation experience preferred and SP endorsements or a willingness to obtain.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, & REGISTRATIONS
- Criminal background check required for hire
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- Colorado Commercial driver’s license (CDL) (Class A preferred) SP endorsements
- CDL Third Party Tester Certification required as soon as possible after hire date
- Non-violent Crisis Prevention (CPI) training required with three months of hire
- CPR and First Aid
- Must pass drug/alcohol screen per Board Policy

- Knowledge of city and county road networks and location of schools in the district
- Knowledge of Colorado and Federal laws as they relate to CDL
- Ability to promote and follow all Rules and regulations of the CDL 3rd Party Testing program set forth by the American Association of Motor Vehicle Administrators (AAMVA) and Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA)
- Ability to lead, train and work with others
- Ability to drive and operate Class A vehicles
- Ability to maintain confidentiality in all aspects of the job
- Ability to manage multiple priorities

- Ability to promote and follow Board of Education policies, Superintendent policies and building/department procedures
