Durango School District 9-R is accpeting applications for Assistant Wrestling Coach at Escalante Middle School.  This position includes instructing middle school students (grades 7 and 8) in the fundamental skills, strategies, and physical training of wrestling. We are a member of the San Juan Basin League;  the season runs from mid January 2019 through mid March 2019.

Preferred Qualifications

Ability to build rapport with middle school students

Ability to build individual and team character and confidence

Ability to relate to students of varying athletic abilities

Ability to conduct oneself in an ethical and exemplary manner at all times

Ability to work positively with coaches, staff, and administration

Ability to communicate effectively with student athletes and parents

Knowledge of effective coaching practices/techniques of wrestling
