SUMMARY: Serve as the receptionist for the Durango School District 9-R Central Office. Provide written and oral translation services for the school district under the direction of the Communications Department.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. - Greet and director visitors when they arrive to the building.
- Answer phones; assist callers with questions and provide information or route call to appropriate person or department.
- Translate a variety of documents from English to Spanish and Spanish to English.
- Serve as an oral translator for meetings and for special events.
- Assist in developing and delivering basic Spanish language communication classes for employees.
- Assist with the development, and the maintenance, of the district web page
- Serve as a member of the Crisis Management Team for the school district as needed.
Perform other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION AND TRAINING: High school diploma or equivalent.
EXPERIENCE: Experience in translating documents and conversations preferred. Experience with translating technical documents preferred. Experience in managing projects preferred.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, & REGISTRATIONS: Criminal background check required for hire. Must be willing to undergo standardized testing to verify level of fluency in Spanish and English. Must compete the Introduction to Incident Command System ICS-100 for School training for schools within thirty days of hire.

- Operating knowledge of and experience with computers and Microsoft Office
- Ability to operate and utilize databases
- Operating knowledge of and experience with typical office equipment, such as telephones, copier, fax machine, E-mail, etc.
