Durango School District 9-R is accepting applications for Assistant Girls' Basketball Coach at Escalante Middle School.  This coaching position includes instructing middle school students (grades 7 and 8) in the fundamental skills, strategies, and physical training of basketball. We are a member of the San Juan Basin League; practice begins mid December 2017 with the season ending mid February 2018.

Preferred Qualifications

Ability to build rapport with middle school students

Ability to motivate and instill confidence in all athletes

Ability to build individual and team character

Ability to conduct oneself in an ethical and exemplary model at all times

General knowledge of effective coaching practices/techniques of basketball

Ability to work positively and communicate effectively with coaches, staff, parents and administration
