Durango School District 9-R is accepting applications for Assistant Girls Basketball Coach at Miller Middle School. This coaching position involves instructing middle school students (grades 7 and 8) in the fundamental skills, strategies, and physical training of basketball. We are a member of the San Juan Basin Middle School League; Season begins mid December 2017 and runs through mid February 2018.
Preferred Qualifications
- Plan and organize practices
- Instruct players on techniques to develop fundamental skills
- Provide feedback to help players improve
- Encourage and support good teamwork and sportsmanship
- Assist head coach in other duties
- Communicate with players, coaches, parents, AD and admin
- Possess fundamental knowledge of basketball
- Experience coaching school-aged athletes
- CPR/AED certified, or ability to get certified
